FEE PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, August 26. The Builders' and Contractors' Conference opened this morning. Mr. A. Johnston, cf Wellington (the president), was in the chair. It was de-' cided 1o j.O through the Factories Bill in order to give evidence before the Libour Bills Committee ; also to protest against builders' and contractors', workshops being included in the Factories Act, Eeeing tbey are order other laws. It was decided to wait on the Premier and point out the unnecessary difficulties created for the building trade under the amending Factories Bill; also to object strongly to the passing of the provisions re those employed in workshop?, and hours of ordinary work, and overtime, as these clauses clash with the arbitration award under which tho trade is working- _________
