Range-, Grind Master for thafc m'h Island : -'• We, m-mbe-s of the Royal Ora"g.i Institution o» Christchurch. New Zealaud, view with alarm the proposal to niter th declaration or coronation oath. As loyal subject* of his Imperii Maje.ty King Edward VII, we earnestly and emphatically protest asaios any alteration which may alter th constitu ional and Prot'stint character of tbe coronation oith, which is the bulwark of our Protestant religian. freedom of thought and nligious liberty. We recognue and wsert that it is essential for the preservation of our civil and religious liberties and th» freedom of the B itish Empire from tbe political and foreign influence of the Vatican that the sivereign'e declaration and coronation oMh shoulc be maintained unimpaired." The motion was supported by the R»vs. P. Ward and G. Mainfold and other speakers.
