PROTEST AGAINST FACTORIES BILL.
PUB PRESS ASSOCIATION. Auckland, July 16. At a.largely attended me ting of the Auokland Emp'oyers Association, held for the purpose of cont>ideting the proposed Faotories Bill, it was unani mously decided to forward to the Premier a 61rone protest agaii st the Bill with regtid to the reduction of tbe weekly hours of labour to 44, undue limitation of over ime,' inclusion of Labour D.y among paid holidays, and the penalty of £IOO piovided for in clause 35 bearing on accident. It was pointed out that the Bill would be disastrous to the boot and other trades, would upset the recent awards of 48 houra per week, and would mean a reduction of wages and encouragement of importing.
