At the inquest David Middleton, a waiter, seated from wh*t he saw of th fire nobody who att mpted to got out by tbe fire escapes had auy chanc. When be first saw it the fire war* thickest where the escapes were. He only knew of t*o escapes, and they were fixtuies in (he w Ik of tbe building and we.© absolutely Dseless, and would simply lead people into the flames, buing nothing less than-a death trap.
MR AYRE3 BODY NOT FOUND. There is nothing moie doiin-'te as to Mr Ayri-s' fate, as the body has not yet been found. The police in searching for Mr Ayras' body found his c'othfs ai.d effe.ts pai tly destroyed, but no signs of the bxly. Itisconj-'cturelheoi'deivoured to get down th<) s'a<rcase and reivhed It ia thought that the body will noi be recovoad till all the debris is temoved.
