And now, wh le the acquittal itself is being app aled against he is me of the defendant to another ac'ion, this time made by his late partner, Mr. E. M. Fellowes, solicitor, of 1 Great Winchester sheet, who made a claim against M'ssrs Flower and Flower, eo'icitors, f Norfolk-street, S'rand, for £U 16s 61. Mr. Ralph B\nks appeared for the plaintiff, and MiLewis Thomas for the defendants. It was paid that a charge was made without foundation against tho defendants before the Incorporated Law Society by "rne Jones." The plaintiff was subpoenaed to attaDd the inquiry, which '' lusted for 12 days, and was of a viry heavy na'ure. He Dew sued the defendant frr his fees. Mr. Lswis Thomas 'ook the point that there was no liability on the defendants. They aeresusd as a firm. No firm of solicitors was responsible unless they had personally undertaken to pay the cos's i.f the witness called on behalf of a ) client. The person for whom the plain--1 iff w,is subpoenaed was Mr. Wickham Flower. The Deputy Judge thought i that the mat'er was one that should be 'nquired into before the Aesis'an* Rg ; stiar, who would have power to make the necessary amendments.
