Note—The " M." Manure gave the best results in proportion to cost out of 19 experiments with Champion Swede Tumipa at the Government Experimental Farm at Momohaki in 1897 (see page 170, Fifth Report of Agricultural Department) : experiments made at Momohaki with various Manures upon Turnips in the Season 1898-99 eljow that the best result was obtained from a mixture of one-third steamed bone duit and two-thirds basic slag (Thomas' Phosphate), whilst the best result, at a minimum cosf, was from a (Tixture of one-third Lawes' Superphosphate and twc-lhirdg of the W.M E Co's "M ' Manure. The latter mixture contains the same components as lhe W.M A Co. s No. 3 Mixture, the proportions oeing a little different. The former combination points o the fact, now generally recognised, that the value of batio slag, also known as Thomas' Phosphate, has been great]; under-estimated. The W.M.E. Co.'g No 4 Mixture contains one-third of Thomas' Phosphate. A pernsa of the report of Mr. Oillanders, the manager at Momohaki, embodying the results of the experiments referred to, which will be found in the Seventh Report of the Department, of Agriculture, woild amply repay any farmer who finds a difficulty in (electing the most suitable manures thb.companvbkomvks STOCK FOP.
