VOLUNTEERS.

The Taranaki Rifles held their post- j poued inspection parade last night. Captain Okey, Lieuts. Cock and Ilooker, Chaplain Evans, and 41 rank and file were present. Col.-Sorgt. Phillips of the Wanganui Highland Rifles was also on parade, The corps were exercised in company movemeats by the officers and in rifle exorcists by Sergtv. Lever and Armitage. The various committees met after paracle. The final competition for the gold medal will take place on Thursday and Saturday next. Regulations for the competition for the clock presented by the N.Z. Clothing Factory have been settled. There will be six matches, five to count, and attendance at parades during the competition will count one point.
