FEDERATION COMMISSION.

[PBB PBHSB ASSOCIATION.] Auorland, April 2. In Sydney, the Federation Commission obtained a large amount of information of a very valuible nature, showing the position New Zealand would occupy as a State of the Commonwealth. The Commissioner visited the Agricultural College at Hawkesbury, and took evidence as to the cost of raising wheat and other crops in. New South Wales, and the outlook for future markets of New Zealand farm produce. Taey state the majority of witnesses was favourable to New Zealani eaterling the Commonwealth, but the proceedings of the Commissioners received very little attention, and the desire for a New Zealand alliance, if it exist at all, is of a very theoretical character. The dotails are nit available of the conferences with the Federal and State Ministers, but it is understood none of the witnesses hold out much hope of a reciprocity treaty if Now Zealand declines to enter the Federation.
