HOCKEY.
The annual meeting of the New Plymouth Hockey Club was held in the Council Chambers on Thursday evening. That the garaeis beeoming popular was evidenced by the nAnber of new members present. Mr. Stanley Smith, who was ducted chairman, remarked on the very satisfactory position cf the Club, it having a credit btlance at the end of the first season spoko v. oil for * prospnrous future. A. discussion (.rose as to the possibility of forming & Taranaki Hockey Association. After several bad spoken on the subject it was decided to em- ■ power the Committee to arrange with ' the fither clubs in the district. .—'■J| The retiring officers were accorded 1 *> ; hearty vote of thanks. <*%(§ Thursday, April the 18th, was fixed for the formal opening, and in the interval members are requested to form themselves into a working bee to prepare the greund It may be mentioned that a Hockfy Club is being farmed at Bell Block. The meeting then olosed with the usual thanks to the Chairman.
