The Department of Agriculture has received the followißg from the AgentGenerftl dated London, 23rd :—Butter 100s, market dull; heavy supplies of butter are on luind. Chees», 48s; the market is lifeless. Recent, shipments of cheese are better quality than previous ones. Hemp, good, fair Wellington £24 10s, market very firm in spot; fair current MaDila £34, Cocksfoot, 171b standard is 325, but buyers are not keen to do business; for quick sales lower prices would have to t e accepted. Canterbury mutton average 4|d ; Dubedin and Wellington, 4d; Australian, 3,{d; Itiver Hare, 3id; Canterbury lamb, 5j 7 ,d; Wellington, ian, 43d; beef, hind, 3|d; fore, Total sales in mutton received since January Ist, 1,208,845 carcases, against, 1,140,646 last year for the same period. The market is drooping. Total lambs, 425,747 against 336,302; market steady. The beef market is steady.
