Mr G. A, Marchant was appointed by tha Bojrd to acb as arbitrator of the Board in renpect of the urbitration betwewn tho hoard and Mesa'ti T. M. Smith and R Kirkpatriek, aed also to act as sola arbitrator in the arbitration between the Bjnrd and Mr T. E lwards. It was deeidod that in accordance with tbe request of Mr T. M. Smith, lessee of s?c 12, bleck 2, Ngnire, the | 8.-ard v aiv-d its right to a now vsduation being made, and consents that th .v valuation mads on Juno 19th, 1900, b.i treated and a.:ted upon in all as if it were the new valuation provided for by the leans bow held by Mr Smith, to be made prior to a new lease being offered for publio competition or tender.
A similar resolution in respect of Mr Kirkpatrick's lease wasal.o o.s.ed. The Board's solicitor reported that the arbitrators had assessed tbe yearly rental to ba paid by Mr B. Blizzard fcr sec 40, block 6, Ngiure, fir 21 years, ut i3O per ucr,um. It was decided that a lease of section 236, Huirangi. be granted to the present lessen, T. Edwards, under section 244 of the Land Ac'., 1892. at a yearly vontil fixed by £irbitr:tticm of £ls, for 21 years, from tli9 date sf expiration o? the presont lease without right of renewal, etc. The lease of section 237, Huirangi, now being offerod for sale, will be subject to the Bond's right to take from the land a school site if needed b t any lime during the currency of tho loiise, The rolicitor reported tint certain lands set apart in 1891 aed ISS4 far school sites at ri'zroy, Oakura, Mid"riirst West, and Oarrimtoa Rjsd were not recorded in the minute book as having beea so eefc spars, and a series of resolutions was passed to reciify the omissions.
