THE PLAGUE.
(FKB FUSS ASSOCIATION.) Received 5,1.5 a.m. Sydney, March 4. Tho troopships British Princess and Bavel from the Cape hare been quarantined. Throe hundred rats were caught aboard the troopship Tsmpermoro. Fifty ratters are at work in the city. All vessels mooring at the wharves have been ordered to pat metal discs OB the ropes to prevent rats coming ashore. Received 5, 9.18 a.m. Capetown, March 4. The plague is spreading. The corpses of five Kaffirs have been found in the teto, and tea Kaffirs and one European have beem removed to the hospital since the last reports. (Received 5, a.m.) Adelaide, March 5. TWO doctors have declared that a wharf labourer named Keizu at Fort AdelaideSs suffering from plague. H* feocame ill last week and with his family was quarantined on Saturday. Beisbane, Match 5. Vessels from the Cape, India ai.d Sydney will be stiictly inspected and fumigated, if not already done, as a precaution against plagu*. Melbourne, March 5. Vessels from all plague iafectol forts are being strictly ciamintd. WELLixaTON, Match 5. 'The steamsr Kumara which arrived this evening from London via Capetown anchored in the stream to be fumigated in the morning. The mails are being fumiga'ed at Soajses Island owing to the outbreak of plague at the Cape.
