(FBB PRESS ASSOCIATION.) t Gisbohnb, February 21. There is glorious weather for the reception of the Indion troops, who landed at ten o'clock. Great numbers of people are in town, including many natives, and bunting is flying everywhere, ip close holiday a observed, and the formal reception will take place in the Recreation Grounds, The Premier, Mr. Ward, and party, arrived at daylight. A meeting of the Committee ap-l pointed to arrange for the leception and entwtainment of the troops at New Ply moth, was held on Thursday evening, when it was decided to invite the public to offer hersQa for tfie use of the troops on Saturday. Already 25 have beBB promised, but. about 30 more a,re required. Anyone having one or more horses, which they are willing to 1 end for the occasion, is asked to notify the fact to tbe Mayer by two o'clock to-day. A sub-committee was appointed to make arrangements for lunch for the visiting volunteers and for entertaining the contingent. The guarantee list has reached, over £SO. '

An excellent programme is being arranged, which will take place on the racecourse about 2 p.m. The Hawera, Stratford, and Opunake Mounted Rifies have been invited, and the various infantry corps in the distriot. Tbe display is expected to surpass anything hitherto seen in New Plymouth. i The following telegram has been received by the Mayor, from the Premier:—"l have )ust learned that the Indian troops will take milk, serated waters, water biscuits ,_ and boiled ,ej2ga, so that if any refreshments are \ being provided ot stations they are to ,be limited to the above."

Special trains and excursion faros are announced by the Railway Department.
