The Daily News. MONDAY, JANUARY 21, 1901. THE QUEEN'S HEALTH.
| Toe news published in this morning's , issul respecting the Queen's illness will ! cause consternation and regret throughlout the English-speaking world. At the Queen's age a serious illness will be a great strain and will, it is feared, prove more than she can bear. During the past 12 months the strain upon her has been very great. We all know how 'anxious everyone was during the early stages of the war in South Africa when disaster followed disaster and Mie anxiety the Queen suffered during that time must have been tenfold that of her subjects. She has also had a great deal of domestic worry, all ef which has.told its tale, That she will have' the prayers of her whole people far her recovery goes without saying. The lastest news is not at all reassuring, but we trust that her wonderful contitution and the skill of her medical men may, with Qod's blessing, be the means of sparing her yet a little longer to her loving subjects.
