Parcel mail for United States of America at 5 p.m. Vcr Eamoa, Honolulu, Japan, United States of America, Oanada, British Colombia, Central and South America, British and Foreign West Indies, United Kingdom and Continent of Enrcpe, via San Fransisoo, at at 7 p.m. /or money orders at 2 p.m., and registered letters at S p.-n. Uail due in London February 18th. PENNY POSTAGE. Fhom ist January, 1901, the postage on letters and letter cards for delivery within the colony, or tor United K'ngdom, Canada, India, Cape Colony, and practically all other places in Britlfb Empire, except Australia, will be for each half ounce or fraction there, of one penny. Foreign countries rate will remain at 2|d as at present, and for Australia 2nd, until further advised. Postage on parcels for United Kingdom will, from same date, be as follows: —For parcels not over three ponnds. Is; not over seven pounds &; not over eleven pounds, 3s.
AUSTRALIAN POSTAGE. Thb Postage on letters to Australia will remain twopence (2d). Letters to Australia prepaid one penny will be surcharged. EXPRESS DELIVERY AND SPECIAL MESSENGER SERVICE. EXPBFS3 delivery and special messenger services will be established at New Plytaonth Post and Telegraph Offices as from the l«t January:—Tho express delivery will cove letters and parcels not exceeding 31b. in weight, for which an extra fee of 6d has <jeen paid. The delivery is to be effected by telegraph messengers. The special messenger wrrioo means placing a mesreoger at the disposal of any 'Xclephone Exchange subscriber on request being made, and a fee of 6d on the first mile, and 3d each additional mile op to two miles, or a time foment being made. COMMERCIAL PAPERS AND NEWSPAPERS. A-rrßNTlOji it drawn to the faot that rates of postage, except for letters and lettercards, h>ivo not baen reduced.
