VOLUNTEER NEWS.
Ton Taranaki Rifles held, an inspection parade under Uaptain Okey, V.D, and Lieut Cock. After being put through various movements by tkv - officers, the men were the method of removing and replacing the breech block by Private Hart. Captain Okey announced what mi being done in regard to the camp, and also the Church parade on Sunday, 3rd February, to which the Hewer*, Strafeford, and Okato Mounted Rifles, and the Inglewood and Waitara Rifles haw been invited. The corps intends to purchase soma Morris tubes for the purpose of winter practice and for the use ef honorary members who do not care to go to th* targets. The following handicaps were declared for the shooting competition, t» be held on the Hawera Mounted Rifle* range on Wednesday, January 16th: —Mrs. Higgs, 16 points; Privates A. Coft'oy.J.
