(.Wa do not hold responsible far opinions expressed by correspondents.] 1 i ■■ RECREATION GROUND V. DUMPING GROUND. TO THE EDITOB. Sib, —1$ it not a Bha,me. that our lovely Recreation Grounds, of which we are so justly proud,, should be allowed to gtiin such an 'unenviable notoriety • froin. the number jj>£ suicides that are comparatively fgr#iour suicides and one murder have taken place in that spot, and it is not right that our so-called pWkaiife' gr&ndr'sliould be - tjb&t is unpleasant and melancholy. I would suggest the de»ir^{)ijifjr,o|. a notice board something to this effect Notice: Intending suicides are respectively requested, for the future, to put an end,to' th&r, ewjrtoncdP'at the breakwater instead -of' ; tliese'lakes as hitherto. Penalty, .£5. The hours of high water may' be>ascertained by consulting the public prints ! Perhaps by the time this notice is read,* the consulted, and the breakwater reached, a happier frame of miud will have taken possession of jhe unhappy individual, and a life miy thus be saved.— lam,&e., , -; 'i,.\ \ .
