DREDGE MASTER CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER.

FEB PBES3 ASSOCIATION. Djnedis, December 5. At Cromwell yesterday, James Ledinghum, dredgemaster, ok the Central Electric Dredge, was charged with manslaughter of William Barclay Morgan on October 16. While taking the line out in the boat Morgan was caught in the bight of the wire rope, dragged overboard, and drowned. The Crown Prosecutor contended that the boat was not properly furnished for work, and that there was eulpable negligence. After hearing the evidence, the accused reserved his defence and was committed for trial, bail being allowed in £2OO, with two sureties.
