Lyne, in reply to a question, said that certain communications had passed with regard to State Governors and the appointment of Chief Justices. As far as he could see no local man would get an appointment, The Court declined to grant O'Haran's application for attachment against the newspaper. The judge held the writer had no intention to prejudice the casa. It was unnecessary to impose a penalty beyond the costs of the proceedings, Pehth, November 23. It has been discovered that a certain Major Pelly, who held a position under the Government Geologist, is identical with Gordon, alias Starlight, a bushranger. Gordon appropriated the family papers belonging to Pelly entrusted to his care, and has since masqueraded as a military officer.
