Grain, &c.—There was an unsatisfied local demand for maize, and 2s 5d per bushel was readily obtained, ex wharf; oats, in full supply, 2s 2d to 2s 3d per bushel, ex store; barley, 2s Id to 2s 3d; fowl wheat, 2s 0d; chaff, LI Ss to L2 12s 6d per ton; bran, L 3 IBs; sharps, Li ss. Hides, skins, tallow. Hides were at slightly better prices, skins at late quotations ; tallow sold at belter prices, especially for well rendered. Ox hides, 3Jd to 5d per lb.; cow hides, 3d to 4d; calf-skins, Bsd to s£d; bheepskins, dry and damaged, Is 6d to 2b 3d each; light, 2s 6d to 3s 3d; heavy, 3s 6d to 4s Id; lamb-skins, 9d to Is Id; pelts, 10s to Is. Wool: Cross-bred, 4J to sd; long wool, to 4 jd; pieces, 2d; horse-hair, 9d to Is sd; taliow, lis to 18s per owt. for ordinary; 19s to LI 4s for best. Bones, LS per ton. At Remuera, dairy cows made from IA 2s 6d to L 5 17s 6d each; steers, L3l2s Sd to L 5 16s; heifers, L2los to L 3 10s; dry cows, L 3 to LI 7s; strong calves, np to LI IBs. Fat and young oalves are still in strong demand, fresh dropped 6s to 9s each, medium 12s to 15s, heavy up to LI 17s. Fat cattle scarcely kept last week's quotations. Steers and heifers brought from LI 2s to LI 6s per lOOlbs. Prices for steers were from L 7 to to LIS 17s 6d, cows Li to L 8 15s. Bheep sold at fair values, wethers, in their wool, bringing from 15s to LI 2s 3d; ewes, 14s te 18s; shorn sheep, 10s 6d to 18s; fat lambs, 9s 6d to 16s 3d. Pigs wore scarce, no porkers being yarded. Weaners brought from 7s to lis each.
