Cattle.—The scarcity of stock was amply demonstrated on Tuesday at Stratford, when, although more than the advertised number came forward, still, in spite of the prevailing high prices, the muster was far below what is usually expected at this time of the year. Young cattle were in good demand, and nearly all of these were quitted at satisfacory prices. Only one pen of 2|-year steers .as offer and these sold readily at the hammer. Bidding for store cows and springing heifers was not quite as brisk as usnal, but vendors reserves for the former were very Arm, and only one or two lots went home.
