Several Spanish Prelates have circulated a bull prohibiting ecclesiastics participating in civil war. Many priests and some bishops were arrested for favouring the Oarlists. Troops protect the Linares mines and the Despen- _ cerros railway. Thousands of unemployed are starving in Catalonia, and aggravate the crisis.
