WESLEYAN HOME MISSION.
The Rev. J. W. Bond, of Wanganui, Chairman «f the District, preached in the Whiteley Memorial Church on Sunday morning and evening on behalf of the above object. His' remarks in the morning were based upon Christ's words "Upon this rock I will build My Church," Matt. 16 c, 18 verse. The preacher showed how tha Church of Christ was built upon a solid foundation, and had withstood hostility and criticism from without and treachery from within. In the evening, Mr. Bond showed how the Christian religion had transformed the world, how it had lifted men and women from the lowest depths, moved the intellect of a Paul, the mind ef a Gladstone, and the powers of a Newton, The preacher is a powerful and vigorous speaker, and his address to-night, delivered a few days ago in Wanganui, called forth from the press of that town very complimentary criticisms. The Whiteley Hall should be crowded to tha doors to listen to an utterance whieh places Archbishop Redwood's recent oriticism of the Protestant church in its true light,
