With a sou'-wester blowing, the New Plymouth Bowling Green ia a veritable haven of comfort and enjoyment, and the members of the Olub are fortunats io having, for their reoreation, such a cosy nook, free from the cold and catting winds so prevalent for some time pjst. A good number of players assembled on the grean on Thursday afttfrnonn, and aidflS were chosen by the President and Vice-President, Messrs. Paul, Ward, and Hall skipping for the former, while Messrs. Morey, Veale, and Gray skipped the respective rinks for the latter. The new green was chosen as the field of operations, the veteraos Paul and Morey being, as usual, pitted against each other. The turf was in excellent order, a circumstance which conduced considerably to the etjayment of the game, which resulted in a win for the Vice-President's team by 12 points. Oaptaio Hood and Mr. Hadfield made their d&bwt, tbeir initial attempt being considered very Creditable. The following are the I scores:—
