Received 20, 9.23 a.m. London, October 19. ■ The Queen has directed that detaehmonts representing all branches of the British Army shall constitute the Duke of York's guard of honour at the opening of the Federal Parliament. The British Volunteers will be represented by 55 of the Victoria and St. George's Rifles, who will sail for Australia about the middle of November. (Received 20, 8.58 p.m.) London, October 19. The newspapers eulogise the Queen's tact in selecting the military guard for the Duke of York, and point out that the soldiers chosen are the most fitting symbol of common Imperial interests. Received 21, 6.15 p.m. Losdon, October 20. The Duke and Duchess of York start for Australia in March, the military guard starting a week earlier.
