BPM3IAL MIXTURES oan be made at any time to suit farmers.

Note—The "M" Manure gave the best results in proportion to cost out of 19 experiments with Champion Swede Turnips at the Government Experimental Farm at Momohaki in 1897, (see page 170, Fifth Report of Agricultural Department). The experiments made at Momohaki with various Manures upon Turnips in the (Season 1898-99 show that ihe bssi result was obtained from a mixture of one-third attuned bone duit and two-thirds basis slag (.Thomas' Phosphate), whilst the beat reiult, at a minimum cost, was from a n-ixture of one-third Lawea' Superphosphate and two-thirds of the W.M FCV« "M " Manure. The latter mixture contains the same components as the W.M d. Co.'s No. 3 Mixture, the proportions Mint a little different. The former combination points to the faot, now generally recognised, that the value of banc slag, also known as Thomas' Phosphate, has bees greatly under-estimated. The W.M.H. Co.'s No. 4 Mixture contains one-third of Thomas' Phosphate. A perusal of the report of Mr. Gillanders, the manager at Momohaki, embodying the results of the experiments referred to, which will be! found la the Seventh Keport of the Department of Agriculture, wonld amply re-1 pay any farmer who finds a dificulty in ! ■electing the most suitable manures-
