A force of. 100 Boers *has occupied Ficksburg, and chased six members of the town police across the Basutoland | border. BOERB CHASED AND SURROUNDED. (Received 10, 9.45 a.m.) London October 9. Generals Hunter and Bundle, with the Colonial Division, are driving the Boers on the Basutoland frontier to the southward. Troops have been despatched from west and south to surround the fleeing Boers. KRUGER LANDS AT TRIESTE. GENERAL BULLER RETURNS TO ENGLAND. (Received 10, 11.25 p.m.) London, October 10. Kruger lands at Trieste and travels overland to Brussels. General Buller, who is returning to England, arrives at Maritzburg on the 15th. SMALL' TOWNS TO BE GARRISONED. .(Received 10, 10 p.m.) London, October 10. Lord Roberts intends garrisoning the smaller towns to stop raids and ' prevent the Boers obtaining supplies.
