THE OPAKU RESERVE.

In connection with the question of the Opaku Reserve and the action of the Taranaki members of the House, a meeting of the delegates from the High School Board and Education Board has been called for Friday to consider the matter. In the meantime the following telegram has been sent: — Hon. W.O.Walker, Minister of Education, Wellington. MacDiarmid, Chairman of High School Board of Governors. At the meeting on Friday, the whole : position will be discussed and the cooperation of the Wanganui Education Board invited in any action that may be decided upon. A resolution was passd calling the attention of the Govern- ', ment to the conditions of the Statute under which tha reserve was set aside, and asking them not to promote any legislation to divert the endowment from its proper purpose.
