Memis. Abdibso*. of St. Paul's Churchyard, London, have forwarded to us a descriptien of a very iogeoious machine devised by them for enabliag golfers to improve their driving. By means of this invention the game may be played in a room, or in an ordinary garden. To test the writs of tin Etent, an exhibition mateh was played it month in Mem. Anderson's Warehouse, between J. A small party of golfers who watched the performance expressed a high opiaion of the merits of the machine and its possibilities. The usual dubs were ustd, and the tame force pat into each stroke as is necessary on an ordi« nary course. The teeing ground was*, cocoa mat, and tbe green a Turkish carpet. An allowance of 20 per cent, was made for tbe run of the hall. Tbe hole was a metal ring, tomewhat resembling a quoit. The ingenious contrivanee affords a first-rate game, with plenty of exercise and all the elemonU of competition.
