FOOTBALL.
WANQANUI V. TARAKAKL (PBB FUM ASSOCIATION.) Hawkea, September 19. The football match, Wanganui t, Taranaki, wu played to-day, whan, after an exciting game, the former won 4 by seven to five. Wanganui's toon consisted of a potted goal by Tragear, and a penalty goal kicked by Tunrangi. For Taranaki, A. Hunter soond a try, which wu converted by Hardgraves. TannaM, though weaker than usual, had the beak of the game in the first spell, and Mynott got over in the •eoond, but the try waa disallowed, to the great disgust of the crowd, who vented their feelings in hoots. Early in the second spell Walshe, a Tarenaki man, wu ordered off the field and not allowed on again. The team were fairly evenly matched. A. Bayly, who had come as a spectator, was induced, owing to the abaenoeof several man picked, to again don the jersey, Tht play, though fast, wu not brilliant
