Bank of England reserve, £23,762,000; coin and bullion, £31,534,000; percentage of reserve to liabilities, 50 89 ; in circulation £30,080,000; public deposits, £6,847,000 ; I other deposits, £39,363,000; Government securities, £15,926,000; other securities, £25,308,000. Colonial rabbits are hardening, and are I quoted at B|d. Butter is dull. European supplies being plentiful, There is no demand for Australian, the arrivals being stored. Danish is 120s. The English hop crop will average about 7 cwt. to the acre, being only half last year's average.

BUCKLAND AND SONS' WEEKLY AUCTION REPORT. Auckland, September 7. Messrs. Buckland and Sons' Report : Horaes: At tne Haymarket, on Friday, we had a good entry of very useful horses, anJ, with few excedtions, sales were effected at prices ia favour of the vendors. Aged draught mares were in demand for country work and breeding, and all of that class sold at L2O to L 25 each, strong hacks and buggy or 'bus horses were also in demand, and sold freely, ranging in price from LI2 to LlB, lighter hacks and gig horses L 7 to LlO. The .thoroughbred stallion Brigadier was sold ! under the hammer at 29 guineas, and the Clydesdale, Young Roseberry, we placed privately at a satisfactory figure. 1 Hay and Straw.—Less than the average number of loads to hand, prices advanced, and straw told at high values. Grain, etc.—No change to report in the local produce market-, though oats are firmer. Down south maize, in good supply, sold at 2s 4d ex wharf; prime chaff wanted at L 3 per ton ex rail. Good demand lor seed oats. Manures were at late values.

Hides, Skins, Tallow, etc.—On Tuesday, we offered and sold about the average quantity, but though competition was more animated, prices on the whole were similar to last week. Ox hides sold up to sd; cow, 3|d; calf, 3Jd to 5d lb; sheepskins, to 4s Id; for best butchers, 3s to 3s lOd; for lighter lambskins, 8d to Is each; tails, 2s Id dozen: horse hair, Is 3d lb.; bones, 5s cwt.; rough I fat, IJd lb.; tallow, 16s 6d lo 18j ; for ordinary, LI to LI 2s for best, At Remuera, on Thursday, there was about the usual number of dairy cows yarded, and prices for those at profit ranged from L 3 10j to L 8 5s each. The store pens were fairly well filled, and sold at late values. Fat and young calves, in average numbers, were better worth; fresh dropped, 3s to 8s; medium, 10s to 14s; good, solid, up to LI 3s. No heavy weights were penned—sß wire sold. Fat cattle were yarded in average numbers, and all of real good quality were at late values, and brought from H to LI 3s por lOO'.b ; steers ranged in price from L7to L 9 17s 6d; cows, L4to L 8 10s each—--210 were sold. Fat and store sheep were in lair supply and at late values, wethers it their wool bringing from 14s to LI Is; ewes, 22s to 18s; shorn, 10s 6d to 13s 6d; fat lamb 3Qd to 14s 3d; hoggets, 9s to 14s each—lloo wera sold, Pigs were penned in larger numbers than of late, rrr stly of light weight, and were at late quotations. Porkers brought from 18s to LI 10s; small, Es 6d to 13s. No heavy weights yarded—loo were sold.
