ANOTHER ARGTIG EXPLORATION.
[PBB FBBB6 ASSOCIATION.] (Received 7, 9.30 a.m.) London, September 6.
The Shellapolore, the Duke of D'Abruzzi's ship, has returned to Norway. The Duke left Christiana in June last year, in a ship specially constructed on the model of Nansen's. His intention was to journey towards the North Pole, making Franz Joseph Land the first objective, and afterwards, if conditions were favourable, to establish depots and make an attempt with dogs to reach the Pole. In the event of that proving impracticable, the expedition was to confine itself to exploration in Franz Joseph Land. NANSEN'S RECORD BROKEN. Received 7,10.10 p.m. London, September 6.
The Shellapolore was imbedded in ice for eleven months. The expedition 'reached 86 degrees 33 minutes north latitude, beating Nansen, whose most northerly point was 86 degrees 14 minutes.
