LAWN TENNIS.
Tpe championship meeting and open tournament of the New Zealand Lawu Tennis Aseociation will be held at Cbristchurch on Wednesday, Decsmber 26th, and three following dayp. This programme is already out. The championship events include men's and ladies' singlea, men's and ladies' doublef, and the handicap events are similar. ' Mr. J. R. Hooper is the present champion in men's singles, and has also a "leg in "for Slazanger's trophy a gold cigarettes case. , . The winner of the ladies' singles will be called on to play Miss Nunneley for the championship. Messrs Cox and Collins hold the ! championship for men's doubles, Miss Kimieley and Mr. Fisher for combined doubles. Entries for handicap events have to be sent in by the 10 th December, and fjr championship events by the 17ih December.
