LAND BOARD.
The Land Board mot on Monday. Present: Messrs. Stock, Heslop and Rattenbury. Mr. Stock was voted to the chair.
The following land had been applied for since the last meeting in addition to the Omona sections recently balloted for:—Section fl, block 11, Cape, 222 acres, G. F. Shaw, lip.; section C, block 6, Upper Waitnra, 1080 acres, Thos. Wright and Robt. Wright, 0.r.p.; section 2, block 11, Opaku, 448 acres, S. R. Heslop, the valuation for improvements on section C, block 11, Gape to bo dealt with in the usual way. After hearing Mr. Mehalfy, the Board consented to his application to transfer sub-license of section 5, block 10, Ngatimaru, to E. 0. Goodson. Consent was given to the following transfers:—J. 0. Smith to S. W. King, section 4, block 8, Ngairo; P. Webster to J. Smith, section 22, block 11, Mimi; N. Sheppard to R. J. and J. C. Pennington, section 30, block 2, and section 12, block 1, Ngitimaru; A. C. Sladden to C. W. Cullen, sectioa 9, block 11, Ngatimaru, Freeholds were granted to J. Holpin, section 112, 113, block 8, Cape, and G. A. Adlam, section 8, block 9, Cape. Mr. Malono wrote, inquiring if Mr. John Butler, who had paid for improvements on taking up section 9, block 8, Huiroa, was to defend an action brought against him for half the cost of boundary fencing between that section and section 22, block 4, Huiroa, the amount of which was included in the valuation, or whether he was to pay the claim and look to the Board for reimbursement.—The Board decided that it had no jurisdiction. Three months' extension was granted to J. J. Leigh for payment of overdue rent on section 12, block Li, Mahoe, and to E. Thomas in respect of section 19, block 4, Omona.
The following forfeitures for nonfulfilinent of conditions were made :'— A. and M. Kennedy, sec. 8, block 1, Taurakawa; G. D. llolford, sec. 15, block 4, Omoiu; and M. O'Connor, sec. 17, block 15, iNgatimaru. A plan and schedules of C sections in block 1 and 2, Opaku, recently surreyed by Mr. Billiard, was laid on the tabic, but tlio l:nd is to bo withheld from sale until it is more accessible by roads.
Tho Itangor reported on 58 holdings comprising 11,436 acres, whereon the r.tjuiremonts were £ 10(52, but improvements had been effected to tho valuo of X 4195. Only two tenants had not fulfilled tha residenco condition, and one of those was recommended for extension. Defaulters are to be duly notified. G. A. Kindberg is to explain why ho has not taken up resi deuce. An extension of 3 months was granted -j> M. O'Sullivan on account of ill-health.
Applicattons by A. Coxhead, jun., to effect all improvements required on sg. run, sec. 1, block, (I, Pouahi. and a similar application by VV. A. McCutchen, in regard to sees. 5 and 10G, block 11, Pouata, by effecting all improvements on sec. 10G were granted. Consideration of tho ltoad Inspector's ropoi't en the grass on sec, 2, block 1, ftlimi, was deferred. Tho Board adjourned.
