FEB P2ESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received 25, 9.30 a.m.) London, August 24. Thomas Faed, the artist, is dead, agsd 74. [lhe late Mr. Thomas Faed, R.S.A., was boin at Burley Mill, Kircudbright, in 1820, his father being an engineer and millwright. He exhibited a taste for art at an early age, and was greatly encouraged by a successful painting executed when he was at the age of 12. He persevered in his studies and was exceptionally fortunate in chosing subjects of humble lite, into which he introduced most pathetic touches. It was not until 1864 that Mr. Faed ventured to London, and throughout the whole of his artistic career, which has just ended, the popularity of his works has never waned.]
