Newton Kino reports ■— Cattle.—At Ngaire, on Monday, I held a clearing sale on account of Mr. Lilley, The cows were mostly in backward condition, and did not realise high prices. Early : culvers made L 5 to L 6; late calvers, L 3 to J L 4 10s; pigs and sundries realised fair ; prices. At Stratford, on Tuesday, the yards were filled mostly with heifer stock, very few steers coming forward. Heifers in calf were iu fair demand, but in most cases bidding did not reach vendors reserves. Calves and | yearlings all sold at good prices. Springing heifers were well competed for, and nearly all sold at prices ranging from L 3 12s to L 4 ss; store cows made L2 to L2 10s. Mr. Read's dairy cows sold at low rates. At Stony River, on Wednesday, there was only a moderate muster of stock. Bidding for all young cattle was brisk and nearly all ■ of this class sold at satisfactory prices. Calves made 10s to LI bs; yearlings, LI 13s 6d to LI 16s; 18-months steers, L2 lus; springing heifers, L2 19s "6d to L 3 18s ; fat cows (heavy weights), L 4 13s. At btratiord, on Thursday, 1 held a clearing sale of dairy stock on account of Mr. H. j W Hann. 'ihe attendance was not large and prices ranged ij-om L 3to L 6 iCs; spring-1 ing heifers, L 4 to L 4 i2s 6d. On 'lhursday, I held a clearing sale of household furniture on account of Mr. H.
