THE REPRESENTATIVE TRIAL MATCH. The second of the series of test' matches to determine-the selection of! the fifteen who shall do battle for | Taranaki against the sister provinces j took place at Hawera on Thursday, In the first matoh the Northerners defeated the Southerners by six points to four. In Thursday's game, the Northerners were very weak in the forwards, such bulwarks as Watson, Beudall, and Brown being delinquents. The game resulted in a win for the southern end by three points to nil, the scorer for the winning team being Hamilton. The tries were scored by Billing and Goodacre.
