Note—The "M" Man are gave i*, best results in proportion to cost out of 19 experiments with Champion Swede Turnip* it the Government Experimental F»rm at Momohaki in 1897 (see page 170, Fifth Renoit of Agricultural Department) The experiments nude at Momohaki with various Manures upon Turnips in the Season 1898-99 show that iho msr result was obtained from a mixture of one-third steamed bone dmt and two-thirds basis slag (Thomas' Phosphate), whilst the belt result, at a minimum cost, was from a mixture of one-third Lawes' Superphosphate and two-thirds of the W.M.E Co's "M" Manure. The latter mixture'contains the some components as the W.M.E. Oo.'s No. 3 Mixture, tbe proportions being a little different. The former combination points to the fact, now generally recognised, that the value of batio slag, also know as Thomas' Phosphate, has lreen greatly under-estimated. The W.M.E. Co.'s Wo. 4 Mixture contains one-third of Thomas Phosphate.
