TARANAKI RUGBY UNION. At a meeting of the Management Committee of the Taranaki Bugby Union, held at Stratford on Tuesday evening, it was decided to play the Otago match at New Plymouth on Wednesday, sth September, and that the Mayor of New Plymouth and the Chairmen of the Town Boards of Inglewood and Waitara be asked to proclaim a half-holiday on that day instead of the Thursday halfholiday. If this cannot be arranged it is probable that the match will be played at Hawera, Wednesday being the holiday there. . Two matches annually will be played with the Wauganui representatives; the first match to be played at Wanganui on Saturday, 25th August.
A North v. South match will be playeO at Hawera on Thursday, 26th i instant, The Senior fixtures were put back one week.
The Star 111. v. Tukapa 111. match was ordered to be played to-day, the Tukapa Club having applied to the Union to that effect.
Correspondence was received from the New Zealand Union with reference to the Calligban and Beckett case, covering declarations and statements from the secretary of the Star Club, for perusal. The secretary was instructed to reply that the Taranaki Union had no comments to make. It was decided that the secretary furnish Callaghan with copies of all correspondence thereon.

to act as secretaries for the southern and northern divisions respectively. Transfers were granted to the following players:—Lewis, frem Stratford to Eltham; Hart, from Inglewood to Star; D. Hughes, from Kaponga to Okaiawa. The Union decided that it had no power to grant a transfer to Howell, from Tukapa to Star, and that pi yer was referred to rule 9 of Rules for Cup Contests, The application of the Star Club to reinstate S. Humphries, Richardson, and 0. Hammond as juniors was granted. A protest from the Inglewood Club against Stratford, on the ground that Mackie had played for Stratford while residing at Inglewood, was held over in order to receive a declaration from Mackie on the matter. TO-DAY'S MATCHES. Star 11, will play Tukapa 11, in the Recreation Grounds this afternoon. The teams will he as follow:—Star: Birch, Riohardson, Williamson, Kivell, Roch, George, S, Humphries, Webber, Bailey, Hook, Tehutia, Eva, Potts, Clark, and Sturmey. Tukapa: Fullback, R, Honeyfield; three-quarters, McLean, Fookes, Power; five-eighths, Barrett; halves, Purdie, Scanlaß, Harland; forwards, Griffiths, H. Loveridge, Smith, Stringer, Duffin, A. Loveridge, and Davidson. Emergencies: Back, De John; forwards, Howell and Doughty. The Tukapa 111. and Star 111. will also meet on the Recreation Grounds, at 1,30. The teams will be: —Tukapa: Moverley, Harvey, McLean, H. Cock, Brown, McAra, Bullot, Heneyfbld, Howell, Sarten, Hoskin, Jameson, Jones, Glynes, and Gardiner. Emergencies, Tickner, Ballot, and Hooker, Star: B, Elder, Pycroft, Hart, J. Richardß, Brown, Frewin, Way, Nicholls, Hoskin, Setford, Rampton, Jones, Parkins, Cock, Hardgraves.
