The Mount Lyell Mining Company is negotiating for the purchase of the South Tharsis aud RoyalTharsis Mines, in Tasmania, chiefly with the view of obtaining command of the supply of silieious flux required by the Mount Lyell. They offered £45,000 for the South and £IB,OOO for the Royal.
