OPERATIONS IN THE TRANSVAAL.
PRETORIA. TO NATAL RAILWAY RESTORED. Received 9, 9.40 a.m. London, July 8. The railway from Pretoria to Natal has been restored. Small raiding parties are interfering with General Culler's communications 'at Standertoß. A LARGE FORCE OF BOERS DEFEATED. BOERS ATTACK RUSTENBURG. THE BRITISH DRIVE THEM OFF. Received 10, 1 50 a.m. London, July 9. Colonel M\hon and General Huttou defeated 3000 Boers rfho were trying to injure the railway at Brookerspruit. There were 33 British casualties during the engagement, The garrison repulsed a resolute Boer attempt to capture Rustonburg,
