There has beee enormous destruction of property. A number of houses and farm houses have been washed avay. Special trains with boats are being despatched. Looking down the Hawkesbur; Valley from the Kurrajong Mountains the scene is one of the utmost desolation. A train was snowed up near Bathorst. The passengers were confined to the cars all night. A relief train vas sent, but it also was snowed in. On the rising ground between Bathorst and the mountains the snow is ioor feet deep. NARROW ESCAPE OF SETTLERS. A GIRL DROWNED. Received 9,1.30 a.m. Sydney, July 8. The H&wkesbury rosa 50 feet at Windsor, but is subsiding. The whole country is flooded, and immense damage has been dene to crops and property. A number of outlying farmers were rescued after suffering great hardships. At Bathurst there was much damage, owing to the snow causing the collapse of roofs. Kelso is flooded... The residents were rescued in boatsAt Mudgee a girl named Plumer was drowned by the flood waters. There have been numerous blocks and landslip; on the western railway, and traffic was-partially suspended at Forbes.
