I <* • [PER PHB3B ASSOCIATION.] (Received 27, 9.25 a.m.) Melbourne, June 27, At a meeting of the Opposition Sir George Turner was re-elected leader, and it was decided to move an amendment to the Address-in-Reply, condamning the Government's administration during the recess, especially in connection with the despatch of the contingents, Received 28,12.45 a.m. Melbourne, June 27. Parliament was opened by the Lieut.Governor, with the usual ceremonies. The Speech was as forecasted, with the addition of proposals for the formation of Rifle Clubs, strengthening of mounted forces and cadet corps, and making further provision for the closer settlement of land, (Received 28, 1.50 a.m.) Melbourne, June 27. Mr. Turner intends to press the amendment to a division. The general opinion is that the Government is safe to have a fair majority,
