W.Bailey; claim, £l2 Os 9d, and costs, £ 1 12s6d; Mr. Quilliam for plaintiff. G. D, Braund v. A. Briscoe; claim, £1 lis, and costs, 6s.I Takanaki News Co. v. W. Galliclian ; claim, £6 18s, and costs, £1 3s 6d ■ Mr. Hughes for plaintiff Company. PEFENDED CASES. JfJgmont Road Roard v. W. Hale. This was a claim for rates alleged to be due to the Egrpont lload Board. Mr, Quilliam (instructed by Mr. Samuel) for the B'. at'd, Plaintiff was nonsuited. Egmont Road Board v. T. Mills. This was a claim for rate?, which was admitted by defendant, but a counterclaim for the amount ef rates (£2 2s) was lodged for work done for the Board. This clifjni was refuted ? on the ground that fte WftrJj: was not authorised by the Board. Judgment for plaintiff for amount claimed, JI 18s, and posts, £1 3s 6d. Mr. Quilliam (instructed by Mr. Samuel) appeared for the Board.,
