TARANAKI RUGBY UNION.

(Abridged from Mgmont Post.) A meeting of tho Management Committee was held on Friday evening. There were present: Messrs. Kiveli (Stratford), Buchanan (Uliftor), Ballringer (Star), Ad.imson (Rivals-), and Tatton (Secretary). Letters were read from the Inglewood Club,' complaining of the actiotfof tho Olifton Olub in not accepting the ref«ren chosen an the ground by tho Inglewood Club ; that G. Lingman had removed his residence so as to enable him to pliy for the Olifton Olub, and complaining in regard to Stratford team nobeing ready to play when the) (Inglewood) came to Stratford. The Clifton delegate explained that tht captain • objected to Mr. Spurdle refereeing in the match on account of his holding tho position of Secretary of the Club, that he agreed to two 01 three other Inglewood gentlemen taking the position, but whom the Inglewood men objected to, and that the Inglewood team practically decline to play unless their Secretary refereed. The match was ordered to be played again at a date to be fixed. The explanation from the Stratford Club exonerated them from all blame and the match was ordered to be played on July 26. Clifton Second Juniors were disqualified for all matches subsequent t May 24, on account of the Club not putting in a first junior, but they were allowed to play friendly garnet with affiliated clubs for the b.lance of the season. Several applications from the Inglewood Club to reinstate were left in the hands of Messrs. Kiveli and Tatton to deal with. The Thames Club invited the Taranaki Reps, to pay them a visit this season, but the matter i was held over. Messrs. Callaghan (Tukapa) and Beckett (Star) were dis- \ qualifiei for the season for unseemly conduct after the Star-Tukapa match in New Plymouth. With reference to the formation of a Referees' Assooia tion the secretary was directed to send circulars to all clubs asking if they would agree to abide by the appointment of referees made by the Association.
