[PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received 12, 1.20 p.m.) > Sydney, June 12. The cruiser Europa has arrived with relief crews for the squadron. Beceived 13, 1.40 a.m. Sydney, June 12. The monster cruiser Europa, with Belleville boilers, proved hersetf a most wpensive coal consumer. The trip from Portsmouth, including stoppages For trials of boilers at Malta and a visit to Batavia, occupied 86 days, 30 being ievoted to coaling. She consumed 200 tons of English and 250 tons of colonial coal daily. The cost for fuel alone was aver .£BOOO. For this reason the officers ire of opinion that the vessel is a complete failure for long distance steaming.
