The Gordons' superb bayonet charge was a feature of the operations round Johannesburg. The captured Yeomen include three i gentlemen's companies. Two were captured, but the third (said to be laden with prisoners, horses, and gold) escapsd. Oa the previous night a number of prisoners were directed to entrain, but refused, and then disarmed the guard and captured the commandant, THE BRITISH PRISONERS. MANY OF THE ENEMY CAPTURED. (Received 9,1.20 a.m.) London, June 8. A thousand British prisoners are penned in a barbed-wire eiidosure on the open veldt at Nooitgedacht, Mr. Bennett Burleigh, the war correspondent, statrs that many gucs and several hundred Boer officers and met were, captured at Pretoria. The town was found intact.
