NEW ZEALAND AGRICULTURAL CONFERENCE.
The New Zealand Agricultural Conference, which is to be hold under the auspices of the Manawatu, and West Coast, and Wairarapa, and East Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Associations, meets at Wellington, on Tuesday 26th inst. Some 26 agricultural associations are sending delegates, several sending two representatives each. Mr. G. V. Tate is down on the list as delegate for the Taranaki Agricultural Sosiety, and Mr. J. B. Connett will represent, the Taranaki Farmers' Club. Tke Egmont A. and P. Association sends Mr. W. Symes, M.H.R., as delegate. The order paper shows that some fifty different matters are proposed for discussion, many of these being of special importance to agricultural and pastoral interests. Legislation in all sorts of directions will be advocated, and the proposals under this head would keep Parliament busy for a whole session. Taranaki's delegates will propose " The urgency of legislation on Noxious Weeds," and the subject of "Expert lectures to various Farmers' Associations by Government spe.ia'ists." The Manawatu A. and P. Association delegates will propose " That the Government be requested to acquire the Manawatu railway line." Ashburton will propose a scheme for the holding of au A. and P. Show in New Zealand on the lines of the " Royal Show" held in England. Egmont is to propose " that the Conference be asked to approach the Government and ascertain whether it is intended to impose the tax on dairy factories." Stock, grain, grass seeds, noxious weeds, railway freights, sheep dip, rabbits, frogen meat, freight and insurance on farm produce are among other items that will be discussed,
Altogether, the Conference should pi-oye a most useful one, and the results are likely tp be of great value to the agricultural and pasforal interests!
