Mr. Orick, Postmaster-General, wired Mr. Chamberlain that the colony is in harmony with the Pacific Oahle Board's proposal, and is prepared to undertake a share of the responsibility of construction, and asking the right hon. gentleman to take the necessary 'steps to hasten the completion. Mr. I Orick states that he has had no communication whatever from the New Zealand Government with reference to the proposal to lay a New Zealand-1 Australia cable.
