LAND BOARD.
The Land Board met on Monday Present: Messrs. Strauchon (chairman), Kelly, Stock, Heslop, and Rattenbury. Land applied for since the last meeting wasSection 14, block 5, Ngatimaru ; sections 37,38, 39, 44, and 45, block 6, Ngatimaru, 1000 acres, W. L, Hay lock, W. E. Haylock, 0. Hodgkinson, P. W.Quinton, and E. J, Quinton as tenants in common, l.i.p. The application of T. H. Taylor for section 14, block 8, Mimi, was approved.
Consent was given to the following transfers:—o. B. Baker to W. Halse, J. R. Milson and H. Fowler, ssction 7, block 10, Ngatimaru; S. S. Oorrigan to Margaret Reid, section 10, block 8, Hawera; J. Rouse to R, Johnson, section 7, block 2, Omona; E. E. Larson to Annie Rawstron, section 11, block 3, Omona. In case of an application by D. Maxwell to transfer to J. J. Oonnell sections 7, block 9, and 1, block 10, Ngatimaru, the transferee is to be asked to state how he proposes to fulfil residence condition?.
Consent was given to A. Alexander to sub-let run 10, Opaku, to W. H. Wybourm.
Owing to loss of his lease by fire, a ne;v lease was ordered to be issued to A. Middlemiss.
Before taking action on the application of Messrs. McPhee and Sommers for a transfer of section 10, block 11, Ngaire, the Inspector is to report on the tenants' interest in the improvements.
Consent was given to capitalise and acquire freeholds in the following cases:—P. F. Ralfe, section 10, block 4, Kaupokonui; and H. Turchi, sections 13 and 20, block 15, Waitara, Freeholds were granted to W. A. Limbrick, section 19, block 14, Oape; G, R, Smith, section 6, block 4, Huiroa; John Sattler, section 1, block 11, Huiroa.
tion as to why he should pay rent for forfeited section, he is to be informed that having purchased a freehold elsewhere the amount of rent due will be recovered.
The Board approved the form of drawn up by Messrs. Standish and Kerr.
The Ra-ager's report on the Grown Dairy Company's application for a site of 9 acres at the Mangaotuki-Tututawa road junction was received, and it was decided that the Company be authorised to occupy for factory purposes 2 acres, and that the land, after survey, be put up to public auction at an upset price ofil2. The proposals of the Waimate Road Board for expenditure of £43 2s 6d thirds were approved. The Board declined to give W. Sheridan an opinion on a suppositious case.
It was decided in reference to resi dence conditions on sections 13 and 18, block 6, Kapara, that as long as the lessee resided on section 11 the Board would accept that as compliance with the conditions.
It was also decided that the Board had no power to deal with W. Burgess's application for a surrender and grant of new lease.
Sections 2, 3, 5, 6, 12, 14, and 16, block 9, Mimi, are to be grouped and offered for sale at the price fixed by the Board, with valuation for improvements.
The Niho Niho lands are not to be dealt with at present. A, H. Condon's application for grazing right on section 2, block 9, Mimi, was not entertained.
Three months' leave of absence from section 23, block 11, Ngaire, was granted to J. W. Espin. The Ranger is to make a valuation of sections 20, 21, 23, 24, part 25 and 54, with a view to their being offered for sale by public auction. A piece of waste land, 2 acres in extent, in the Grey district, adjoining Barrett's reserve, is to be valued, and ; the adjoining settlers notified that the land will be offered them.
T. S. Dewar having paid all arrears of rent is to be allowed to resume occupation of section 4, block 3, Ngatimaru.
Consent was given to Mrs. C. Brown transferring her tramway tenancy along the Railway Reserve in the Ngaire Block to George Syme. G. R. Moir's application to transfer section 15, block 2, Omona, and part section 3, block 14, Ngatimaru, to P. 0. B. Stretton, was agreed to. The Board rose.
